Guided walking tours of historic Somonauk Street are led by Stephen Bigolin on the first Sunday of the month throughout the summer. The tour takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Handouts are included.

Carol Meeks and her fourth graders will share their experiences in interviewing local business owners and city leaders. This project combined learning local history, and providing information for the museum's upcoming exhibit, "Heartbeat of a Community: Downtown Sycamore."

Event: Summer Concert with Tavern Hill Liars
Cost: Free, donations welcome
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Sycamore History Museum
The Tavern Hill Liars music eclectic collection drawing from traditional (American and Canadian), folk music, bluegrass, gospel, and blues as well as more current pieces they rearranged to take advantage of their instruments and voices. Event: Last day for "Memories from the Farm" exhibit
Cost: Regular admission fees
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Sycamore History Museum
Last day to see the award winning exhibit, "Memories from the Farm," featuring photos from the Sycamore High School photos club, interviews conducted by fourth graders with local farmers, and a hands-on room for children.

Event: Grand Opening "Heartbeat of a Community: Downtown Sycamore" exhibit and Pie and Ice Cream Social
Cost: $5 per person
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Sycamore History Museum
Explore how people, businesses, architecture, and celebrations have kept our downtown vibrant throughout the years. The exhibit will feature many treasures connected to downtown Sycamore, and a recreated bank, post office, grocery store, and soda fountain for the hands-on room from children. Then relax with some pie and ice cream outside.

Enjoy a full day of activities at the Sycamore Park District as Reenactors and the Sons of Union Veterans recreate a Civil War encampment and battles.

Event: Kid's Camp
Cost: $20 per child (10 and older)
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: Sycamore Community Park, near Good Tymes Shelter
Boys and girls interested in the Civil War this is your chance to muster in and spend the day as a new recruit in the Civil War. Participants will receive a Civil War keppie, muster in and out, and spend the day with reenactors discovering what daily life was like for soldiers. Registration is limited to 20. Bring a sack lunch.
