Like talking to people? Don’t like talking to people, but like looking at artifacts, photographs and letters? Volunteer
at the Sycamore History Museum!

Volunteers serve in a variety of roles
the Sycamore History Museum, and play a vital job in helping the Museum achieve its mission.


Archives
Filing, copying, researching,
and database entry.

Communications
Writing for the newsletter, press releases, and public service announcements.

Exhibits
Researching, interviewing,
collecting artifacts, mounting
and installing exhibits.

Education
Planning and implementation of educational programs for students, scouts, families, and adults.

Garden Committee
Maintaining and developing gardens.

Museum
Docents, or volunteers to lead tours
for visitors. (Training is provided)

Greeters – Welcoming visitors,
collecting admission, and selling
items in the gift shop.

Property
Assisting with general maintenance
inside and outside the buildings throughout the year. Call for details

Special Events
Assisting in a variety
of special events including:
January – Winter Fundraiser
August – Pie and Ice Cream Social
September – Civil War Days
October – Cemetery Walk, Fall Festival
December – Holiday Open House
